About this site
This is an independent information portal about Frankfurt Airport (FRA / EDDF), Germany's largest airport. It is published by Global Online Travel and is not affiliated with Fraport AG, the company that operates the airport, nor with any airline, railway or transport provider mentioned on these pages.
The site exists for one reason. A passenger who needs to know which terminal their flight leaves from, what the train into the city actually costs, or whether their cabin bag will be accepted at the gate should be able to find that in one place, in their own language, without registering for anything.
What you will find here
- Flight information — live arrivals and departures boards, plus the airlines serving FRA and the terminals they use.
- Getting around the airport — the terminals guide, parking, lounges, and what to do on a layover.
- Getting to and from the city — S-Bahn and ICE connections, taxis, the shuttle bus, and a route-by-route comparison in transport to the city centre.
- Two calculators built for this site — a transfer cost calculator using the current RMV tariff and Frankfurt taxi meter rates, and a baggage allowance checker covering the carriers that actually fly from FRA.
- Longer reads — practical guides in our travel guide and blog.
How we research and check facts
Every figure on this site comes from a primary source rather than from another travel site. Fares, terminal assignments and opening hours change, so each page states where its facts came from and when they were last verified.
- Airport facts — terminal layout, facilities and operational changes: frankfurt-airport.com (Fraport AG).
- Public transport fares — the RMV (Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund) tariff for the Frankfurt fare area, and Deutsche Bahn for long-distance rail.
- Taxi rates — the City of Frankfurt taxi tariff, including the fact that Frankfurt applies no night surcharge.
- Baggage rules — each airline's own published conditions of carriage, checked carrier by carrier rather than averaged into a single allowance.
Where a figure is a range, or depends on the time of day or the size of your group, we say so instead of quoting one convenient number. Our editorial policy sets out the full process, and photo credits lists the source of every image.
What this site does not do
We do not sell flights, and we cannot act on your booking. For anything that needs the airport or your airline to act, go to them directly:
- Lost property or delayed baggage — Fraport AG lost and found, or your airline's baggage desk. We have no access to either system.
- Guaranteed flight status — the boards here are a convenience, not an official source. Confirm with your airline before leaving for the airport.
- Bookings, changes and refunds — with the airline, travel agent or transport operator you paid.
Languages
The site is published in 15 languages in addition to English. The English edition is the source of record: where a translated page and the English page disagree on a fact or a fare, the English page is the correct one, and we would be glad to hear about the difference so we can fix it.
Corrections and contact
If something here is wrong, out of date or unclear, tell us and we will correct it. Corrections that change a fact are made on the page itself rather than quietly removed. Write to [email protected] or use the contact page. Copyright and takedown requests go to [email protected] — see our DMCA notice and takedown policy.
