Car parks are spread across Terminal 1 and the new Terminal 3, and the free Sky Line train links them, so you can park at one terminal and travel to another in minutes. As a rule, the closer and more flexible the space, the higher the price — and booking online in advance is almost always cheaper than turning up and paying the gate rate. Which car park is cheapest?

How much is Terminal Parking at Frankfurt Airport?

Terminal Parking covers the covered garages right next to the terminals, only a short indoor walk from check-in. At Terminal 1 the operator signs it at entrances P2 and P3, with P1 as the alternative; at Terminal 3 it is the multi-storey car park at P10 and P11. It suits short stays, pick-ups and drop-offs as well as shorter trips where convenience matters most. Two P numbers are easy to misread here: P4 is Business Parking rather than Terminal Parking, and P8 and P9 are the Terminal 2 garages — P8 now trading as Holiday Parking Ost — so neither of them is a Terminal 1 car park.

Is Economy Parking worth the extra journey?

Economy Parking is Fraport's price-conscious long-stay option, located in the Terminal 3 car park and available online only for stays of three days or more. From the car park the Sky Line reaches Terminal 1 in around eight minutes — so the cost of the saving is a train ride, not a taxi.

Where do you park for Terminal 3?

Terminal 3 has its own multi-storey car park with up to 8,500 spaces, reached through entrance P11, and the operator states that no advance reservation is required to use it. The terminal is connected directly to the A5 motorway, which makes it the easier side of the airport to reach by car if you are coming from the south or west. Check which terminal your flight uses before you set off — the two are not adjacent, and the drive between them is not the short hop the map suggests.

What is Holiday Parking?

Holiday Parking is another budget long-stay choice for travellers leaving a car for a week or more. Like Economy Parking it is cheapest when booked online in advance, with a short shuttle or Sky Line ride to the terminals.

Can you charge an electric car at the airport?

Yes — eParking combines a garage space with an EV charging point. Rates are similar to Business Parking, and the electricity you use is billed separately from the parking fee, so compare the two lines rather than the headline price.

How does valet parking work?

With valet parking (PremiumParking) you hand your car over at the terminal kerb and a driver parks it for you; on your return the car is waiting close to arrivals. It is the most convenient option and priced accordingly, above the standard garages — book online and check the current rate for your dates.

How long can you stay in the drop-off zone?

The drop-off zones (Kiss & Fly) let you set down or collect passengers quickly. The first 10 minutes are free, up to twice per calendar day, after which charges apply, and the maximum stay is around three hours. For anything longer, use Terminal or Business Parking — and if you are collecting someone whose flight is late, park properly rather than circling: the free window is measured from the moment you enter, not from the moment they land.

Is there parking for travellers with reduced mobility?

Extra-wide spaces for travellers with reduced mobility are provided near the lifts and terminal entrances in the main garages, along with dedicated ladies' parking bays. Blue Badge holders should carry their permit and check Fraport's accessibility information before travelling.

Why book online rather than pay at the barrier?

The single best way to save money is to book your space online at the official Fraport site rather than paying at the gate. Advance rates are significantly lower, your space is guaranteed, and you can add extras such as EV charging or valet service. Compare the total price for your exact dates rather than the daily rate, and factor in the short Sky Line ride if you choose an Economy or Terminal 3 car park.

What if your flight comes back late?

An online booking covers a stated window. If your return slips past it — a delayed flight, a missed connection — the extra time is normally charged at the gate rate, which is the expensive one. When your return is on the last flight of the day, or connects through another hub, booking one day more than you need costs a few euros and removes the risk entirely.

Where is each car park? The P numbers explained

Frankfurt Airport signs its car parks by P number, and the number — not the product name — is what the motorway signs show, what the barrier reads and what your booking confirmation carries. The operator counts around 15,000 spaces in the terminal car parks, and up to 8,500 in the Terminal 3 garage on its own, so the first thing to fix is which entrance you are aiming for.

Two things about this list save real time. P10 and P11 are not interchangeable even though both serve Terminal 3: P10 is the entrance for a car park booked online, P11 the one for turning up without a booking, and arriving at the wrong barrier with a QR code is a common way to lose ten minutes. And Holiday Parking is two different places — Ost, in the Terminal 2 garage at P8 with the 20-minute shuttle, and Nord, in the Gateway Gardens garage, which is reached not by shuttle bus but by the S8 and S9 S-Bahn via Terminal 1, also around the clock.

One honest answer to a question people search for often: the airport does not publish a printable layout plan of its car parks. If you want something to carry with you, note down the P number and the level — that pair is what every sign, barrier and lift on site is labelled with.

Is off-airport parking cheaper?

Independent off-airport operators also run guarded lots a short drive from FRA, usually with a free shuttle to the terminals; they can undercut the official long-stay rates for longer trips, so it is worth comparing. Weigh the saving against the shuttle timetable: a lot that runs a bus every 30 minutes costs you more time than the Sky Line does, and time is what you are short of on the way out.
